Imagine yourself riding a giant wheel placed above Tagaytay viewing the scenic Taal Volcano. Wow! I can’t wait.

As we were heading from Nasugbu, Batangas last Dec. 29 a large ferris wheel (similar to MOA eye) in-progress caught our attention. I did a little research and learned that this is one of the latest projects of SM Group. They named it Sky Ranch.

Sky Ranch is situated on a 5 hectare lot near Taal Vista Hotel along Aguinaldo Ave. in Tagaytay. The place seems to promise a new level of leisure and entertainment to visitors and travelers.  As published in an online article, Sky Ranch will offer different facilities and amenities (with add-on twists) such as horseback riding, amusement park for families, restaurants, a 2,000 sqm-plus events tent for functions and gatherings and parking area.

The leisure park already had their soft launch last March 2 with Sky Fun Amusement Park, but their target completion and opening is by summer of 2013. For sure, this will be the next cool destination hit in Tagaytay. I’m looking forward to its full operation.

Golden Man

We had our Sunday spent again in Touch of Glory (TOG) Prayer Mountain situated at Antipolo City. It was my third visit this year and I really find it refreshing every time I go here. I bet this is such a good place to spend some devotion or quiet time.

If you are to commute going here from Manila area, locate first either Robinson’s Metro East or Sta. Lucia Grand Mall, or you can also start from Araneta Center-Cubao. From either of those landmarks, ride a jeepney with Paenaan sign. Be sure to ask the driver first if they’ll go straight to Paenaan because there’s one time we had when they cut off their trip upon reaching Cogeo. The ride would normally take about more than an hour or two to reach this place. Jeepney trips with Paenaan sign will pass the main road near to TOG.

Now, if you are planning to go here with a car, better if you utilize your smartphone’s GPS or googlemaps or any navigation system you have that might be useful.

From the drop off point, you just have to do a quick walk towards the gate of TOG. Reaching their gate, you have to present at least one I.D. then log on to their guest book (as normal protocol) and at the same time they will hand you their rate sheet plus some guidelines as a reminder while you are inside. Entrance or use of rooms are to be paid either at their canteen or administration office.

They really have good facilities inside and various places where you can have quite time or hold a fellowship with a group. The doors you see below are for the rooms where you can stay overnight.

Below is the garden which is one of my favorite place to stay. This is also where you can freely use either of the gazeebos available, or you can just sit around on the grass with a group and do some sharing, praise and worship.

Now if you prefer to be alone or you just need more quiet time, there’s enough number of prayer cell where you can get  inside and pray. Just remember also to take off your sandals or shoes before getting inside.

With regards to food, they also have a canteen area. They serve good dishes and meriendas at good prices. But if you want to bring your own food, I think that would also be an option.

Conference rooms, main event area for services, fish ponds, parking area and more are also available.

So if you have time during holidays or weekends or better during lenten season, instead of spending more on get-away vacations, consider going to this place instead. Get a retreat for yourself, enjoy and be in touch with God.
